Easter has arrived and with it another release of MiniCards. There is some nice new eye-candy with card flips, zooms and rotations all smoothly animated. A big inclusion in this release is a rework of the peer-to-peer network joining. The default joining protocol now uses mDNS (aka Bonjour or ZeroConf) rather than Wifi-Direct. This should make local multiplayer much more reliable if you are already on a Wifi Network, which is probably the case for most people. Wifi-Direct is still available via a drop-down option menu (remember that all players need to select it if you’re going to use it). The Wifi-Direct API is somewhat temperamental on Android to say the least, so in future the current in-game Wifi-Direct negotiation may disappear in favour of manual setup via standard Android settings.
